1. Who We Are
Pulp is a mobile application operated by Fletcher Street Corporation, a Delaware C-Corporation ("Fletcher Street," "we," "us," or "our"). Our mailing address is on file with the State of Delaware, and we operate primarily in the State of Indiana.
This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, store, and share your information when you use the Pulp mobile application.
By using Pulp, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
2. Information We Collect
We collect the following categories of information:
- Phone number — used to create and verify your account via SMS one-time passcode (OTP). This is your primary identifier within Pulp.
- Full name — collected during onboarding to personalize your account and to help match names that appear on your mail.
- Home address — your street address, city, state, and ZIP code. This is collected to verify that mail submissions match your physical location.
- Photos of mail — front and back photographs of junk mail you submit through the app. These photos are used to identify the mailer and recipient name on the piece of mail.
- Submission feedback — your checkbox selections explaining why you don't want a piece of mail, and your strength-of-preference rating (1-5 scale).
- Device information — basic technical information about your device collected automatically by our infrastructure provider, Supabase, for security and authentication purposes.
3. How We Use Your Information
- To create and maintain your Pulp account
- To verify your identity via phone number OTP
- To process and classify your junk mail submissions
- To identify the companies (mailers) sending you unwanted mail
- To contact mailers on your behalf and request that they remove you from their mailing lists
- To build and maintain an opt-out intent database used to advocate for consumers with direct mail companies
- To show you your submission history
- To improve the accuracy of our mail classification systems
4. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information to third parties for marketing or any other commercial purpose.
- With mailers, on your behalf: When we contact a company to request your removal from their mailing list, we share your name and mailing address with that company. This sharing is done at your direction and solely for the purpose of processing your opt-out request. It is not a sale of your data.
- With service providers: We use third-party services including Supabase (database and storage), Twilio (phone verification), and Vercel (admin infrastructure). These providers process your data only as necessary to deliver our service and are contractually prohibited from using it for their own purposes.
- If required by law: We may disclose your information if required to do so by law, court order, or governmental authority.
- In connection with a business transfer: If Fletcher Street Corporation is acquired or merges with another entity, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you of any such change.
5. Photo Storage and Deletion
Photos you submit through Pulp are stored securely in private cloud storage (Supabase Storage). Photos are not publicly accessible and are only viewable by authorized Pulp administrators for the purpose of classifying your submission.
Photos are permanently deleted within 30 days of being submitted, once your submission has been reviewed and classified. We retain the structured data derived from your submission (mailer name, recipient name, feedback, and strength score) but do not retain the original photos beyond this window.
If your submission is discarded by an administrator as unclassifiable, photos are deleted within 24 hours of that determination.
6. Data Retention
We retain your account information (phone number, name, and address) for as long as your account is active. Submission records (excluding photos) are retained indefinitely as part of our opt-out intent database, but are not linked to your personal identity in any externally shared data.
You may request deletion of your account and associated personal data at any time by contacting us at the address below. We will process deletion requests within 30 days.
7. Your Rights
- The right to access the personal information we hold about you
- The right to correct inaccurate information
- The right to request deletion of your personal information
- The right to opt out of certain uses of your information
To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at cpratt@thefletcherstreet.com. We will respond within 30 days.
8. Children's Privacy
Pulp is intended for users who are 18 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 18. If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a minor, please contact us immediately and we will delete it promptly.
9. Security
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information, including encrypted data transmission, private (non-public) photo storage, Row Level Security on our database, and phone-based authentication. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we are committed to protecting your data using industry-standard practices.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. If changes are material, we will notify you via SMS or in-app notification. Your continued use of Pulp after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
